500 Gm Fish
1 No Grated Coconut/Shredded Coconut
1 No Onion Large size, sliced fine
2 No Green Chilli / Chili pepper
1 Sprig Curry Leaf 9 to 10 leafs
0.5 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder Haldi
2 Teaspoon Chilli powder
4 Tablespoon Mustard Oil or Cooking oil
2 Cup Coconut Milk Extract grated coconut
To taste Salt
As required Water
Make Masala
2 Teaspoon Til White
2 Tablespoon Grated Coconut/Shredded Coconut
2 Teaspoon Coriander Powder Dhania powder
1 Teaspoon Cumin Seed / Jeera
1 Teaspoon Mustard Seed
2 Teaspoon Khus Khus
4 Inch Tamarind
1 No Garlic

Macchi Ka Salan Recipe is a tasty fish recipe which is quite easy in preparation. Follow this simple procedure to prepare this yummy recipe at home.

It is the spicy dish cooked with slices of fish, mustard seeds, poppy seeds and grated coconut. A unique blend of sea food is an unimaginable and wonderful recipe.

To make Masala grind the til, coriander (dhania), cumin (jeera), mustard, khus khus, 2 tbsp grated coconut, chili powder, Turmeric (haldi) ,garlic and 1 onion to a fine paste.

Extract 2 cups milk from the grated coconut.

Extract the pulp from the tamarind soaked in 1 cup of water.

Heat oil and add the 1 sliced onion and fry till crisp. Put in the masala paste and fry till the oil separates.

Now add the fish pieces and fry a little. Pour in the coconut milk and add salt to taste along with the curry leaves.

Gently simmer till nearly done. Lastly add the tamarind water and again simmer a little.

Serve machhi ka salan hot.
