2 Nos Mango Washed and chopped big cubes
50 Gms Jaggery / Palm sugar/Gud or Sugar
1 Teaspoon Pancha putona mustard-cumin-fenugreek seeds-nigella seeds-saunf
1 Teaspoon Ginger Paste
3 No Red Chilli
1 Pinch Turmeric Powder Haldi
1 Sprig Curry Leaf
2 No Indian Bay Leaf, Bay Leaf
1 Pinch Asafoetida / Hing
1 Teaspoon Chilli powder
1 Tablespoon Ghee or Oil
To taste Salt
2 Cup Water
1 Teaspoon Roasted Cumin Powder

Traditionally Seasonal Mango Sweet & Sour Chutney recipe is used to get relief in summer time :). This is served with any kind of meal as a side dish. Enjoy its Sweet, Sour & Spice taste.

“Amba Khatta” [Mango In sweet Gravy], this dish comes out of a typical Oriya Kitchen. It’s a delicious tangy spicy chutney, which goes well with any type of main course meal (rice, khichdi, roti, paratha etc).

You can prepared this chutney also in festivals and fasting as there is no use of onion and garlic.Hope you will love it !!

Peel Mangoes and cut the manges into cube pieces.

Heat a kadai. Add 1cup of water.

Add the mango pieces to the boiling water.

Let it boil for 2-3 min till soft.

Drain & U can use the water for further use.


Heat oil in a pan.Add curry leaf & ginger and fry it for 1 minutes.

Add bay leaves, red chilies ,pancha phutan and let them splutter.

Then add Asafoetida,

Add boiled mango pieces, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, and mix it properly until mango becomes light brown in colour.

Then add 1 cup of water, add jaggery or sugar and cover the pan over a medium heat until the mangos are properly cooked.

Add roasted cumin/ fenugreek seeds powder . switch off the flame.
