Ingredients

1 Kg Chicken
10 No Red Chilli Dry Red Chilli
.5 Teaspoon Carom/Ajwain / Thymol Seed
3 No Onion Large Size,Chopped
1 Tablespoon Ginger Paste
1 tbsp Garlic Paste
4 No Tomato Pureed
6 No Green Chilli / Chili pepper
.5 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder ½ tsp
1 Teaspoon Chilli powder
1 Cup Curd
2 Tablespoon Lime/Lime juice/Lemon
To taste Salt
3 Tablespoon Mango Pickle Mango or garlic pickle with oil
Handful Coriander leaf
For Seasoning
3 Tablespoon Mustard Oil
1 Teaspoon Mustard Seed
1 Teaspoon Onion Seed
1 Teaspoon Fenugreek Seed Methi seed
1 Teaspoon Cumin Seed / Jeera
1 Teaspoon Fennel Seed

Chopped Onion thinly sliced.

Grind tomato in Mixer Grinder or Blend

Chopped Coriander leaf.

Wash the chicken pieces nicely. Add some salt, lemon juice and slit green chilli to the chicken. Let this marinate while we get the other things ready.

Heat oil in a kadai and add the seasoning ingredients.

Add the dry red chilli and carom seeds.

Add the chopped onion and saute till it turns golden brown.

Next fry the ginger garlic paste. Add the pureed tomato.

Add the red chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder, pickle and let it cook till oil separates from the masala.

Add the chicken pieces and saute till the masala coats the chicken and the outside of the chicken is cooked.

o Tips : - You can use any brand of pickle of your choice - home made or store bought. This is not part of the traditional recipe but adding the pickle takes the dish to a whole new level.)
o If you want some gravy, add the yogurt at this stage. If you like it dry, scale down and add less curd or skip it all together.

Cover and reduce the flame. Let the chicken cook in its own gravy for 15-20 minutes. Splash some water only if the chicken sticks to the bottom of the pan.

Check for seasoning. Adjust salt, chilli powder and lemon juice according to your taste.

Garnish with Coriander leaf and switch off.
